For the 2026 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, DXL Brothers cooked ribs, chicken, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, and cookies. The Brothers then served more than 120 residents and staff at the Orlando Rescue Mission, giving those families a family-style cookout.
DXL Brothers joined the Pine Hills Neighborhood Improvement District to clean up the streets. Service above self is something we strive to live by.
Celebrating Black history one page at a time! Brothers had the honor of participating in the African American Read-In at Orange Center Elementary, a powerful literacy initiative founded in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English. Held annually in February, this nationwide movement brings communities together to read, share, and uplift works by African American authors.
DXL was proud to team up with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Delta Alpha Mu Zeta Chapter, for its Lunch Box & SockZ Initiative, supporting local students and families as they prepared for the school year. Together, we helped distribute new lunch boxes and socks while sharing a little extra care, confidence and encouragement with students in the community. We’re grateful to the Zetas for welcoming DXL into this meaningful day of service and for the work they continue to do to make a difference in their community
DXL took to the streets in Pine Hills to clean up as part of the Adopt A Highway initiative. 40 pounds of litter was collected on Silver Star Road over the course of two hours. Our participation in this effort is another way in which DXL continues to make a positive impact in the community.
DXL partnered with the Orlando Union Rescue Mission to host a special Pre-Mother’s Day Breakfast for homeless and transitional families in our community. Together, volunteers served breakfast to dozens of individuals and families while creating a space centered on care, dignity, and appreciation ahead of Mother’s Day. Mothers in attendance received gift bags filled with bath and beauty items, and guests also had the opportunity to receive CVS gift cards through a community raffle. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, donated, and helped make the morning possible. Service remains at the heart of what we do
Brothers of DXL and Xi Iota pulled up to serve at Second Harvest Food Bank and didn’t come to play. 12,863 meals packed. 15,437 pounds of impact. Just brothers doing what we do best: showing up, giving back, and making a difference one box at a time.
Brothers of Delta Xi Lambda rolled up their sleeves for our Adopt A Highway cleanup along Silver Star Road. Twenty seven volunteers covered our adopted two mile stretch, contributing 54 volunteer hours of service and collecting an estimated 200 pounds of trash!
DXL Brothers were proud to team up with the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Alpha Delta Iota Omega Chapter, for their Community Shred & Electronics Recycle Day in Clermont. Together, we helped our community safely dispose of sensitive documents and unwanted electronics while promoting environmental responsibility and reducing landfill waste.
DXL Brothers teamed up with our Xi Iota Brothers for a monthly food drive to assist the disadvantaged. This is what service in action looks like.
